Mini Haul

My God it’s hot here today! Thank goodness university wasn’t on today so I didn’t have to spend the entire day stuck in some hot classroom. So instead I went into town with one of my best mates and did a bit of shopping in the lovely spring sun. I didn’t want to spend a lot as I really have over spent recently but I did originally go to take some stuff back to Primark that didn’t fit so I felt as though I could splurge a little. HAHA. So after a lovely lunch at pizza hut I went to get the goodies.

NYX Glitter Cream Palette.05 Bronze Goddess
I’ve being eyeing this up for a while but after reading a few bad reviews online it really put me off. However I decided to just bite the bullet and get it. It’s a funny texture, a bit like Vaseline with glitter but I feel as though it would be nice for  just a simple wash of glitter for a day time look, or perhaps use a heavier hand for a Smokey eye look.  I really dont think this deserves the bad rep it has, as you can see below its pretty pigmented. I am really pale though so maybe thats why they show up op me? I love simple Smokey neutral eyes and so this is perfect for me  and I actually rather like it!

NYX Nail Polish in 24 Glitter
Im a sucker for Glitter and anything like this I will buy automatically. It reminds me of Razzle Dazzle by Deborah Lippmann (which is one of fave polishes) but in a gold version. Im yet to use this but after a quick swatch it seems like it would take 3 coats to get in opaque, but I don’t really mind that as I love depth in polishes!

Boots, Glycerine and Rosewater.
So this was a very researched buy. I’ve recently been running out of Mac Fix+ and as much as I like it I can’t really justify the price for what is really Glycerine and water with some other chemicals shoved in.  After reading around on the internet I’ve found that this mixed with some other bits and bobs (I’ll do a post on it soon) can be a substitute for fix+ with better benefits for the skin.

Skirt- Forever 21
I have a gift card from my birthday for forever 21. So I went in today with my friend who bought me the card to see what to get. I found this skirt at the front with the amazing price of £3.99 in the sale! How could I not get it! It’s a lovely purple colour and can be worn as a high waisted skirt and it’s a lovely material.  One thing that I do have to say about forever 21 is that the sizing is awful. I can be anything from a small to plus size which is awkward when you want to quickly buy something. I got this in a medium as its stretchy and looks like it would cover my big bum!

So that’s about it! Like I said im trying not buy too much but I couldn’t resist these beauties. What about you? What are your new fave products or bargains?  Until next time.

Jitterbug Jive

I don’t really have a lot to blog about today after coming down with a case of the lurgey and being in the house all day in an attractive all Aran jumper and jogging bottom (fashionable I know) I’ve spent the entire day catching up on some long overdue uni work that really needed doing and spent the evening with my housemates, dying on the sofa.
All i do have to say however is my love for my new hair extensions that i bought yesterday but i will do a review on them when im feeling better. So just a short one today, until next time

Dress- H&M
Cardi-Select
Belt- H&M
Ring- H&M
Watch- Micheal Korrs

 Hello :)
I feel as though im wearing alot of H&M today, which is probably because its the shop directly opposite where i work. Not a good thing, as i often spend my time gazing into the window thinking what to buy, as what is happened with this dress.
New dress, my urge to buy something outlived the urge to save.. isn't that always the way..
I do rather like this dress though its a nice Aline that skims my bum and my shows off my waist which is always a plus point, i do think however its a bit tight on my boobs, which i dont know whether its because im out of proportion or its not really meant for  girls with boobs, either way i will make it fit damm it!
Admittedly i did get a bit over excited and ended up buying a belt and some rings to go with it... damn you items near the checkout!
Its a really nice fit and is the perfect length, although i assume this means it would be long on most people (my body is abnormally long compared to my legs. e.g. stubby legs)
I wore it with just a plain neutral pink batwing cardigan as it gives the outfit a bit more of a casual look and a really nice gold belt which just brings up the colour a bit

Hope you all have a good day :) Im just off to run some errands and buy some groceries.
Until next time

OOTD- 16/03

So i know the photos aren't too good, but i really did not realize how hard it is to take photos of yourself by yourself! (Will be annoying the housemates from now on)

Really simple outfit today as im only going into university for a few hours, and i didn't really know what to wear, i am in desperate need of new clothes. A really simple blousey dress in a really nice white chiffon material. It actually came with a weird tight body con underskirt but i cut it out, and wear it with just a plain slip. I need to wear a slip under it though otherwise you can see major bra underneath.

love the detailing on this as its beaded and laced at the top which is nice as its different without being statement. A plain brown belt with some studs on to define my waist, as otherwise this is deffo not very flattering.
Ahh now the shoes, i love these babies after buying them in a sale a few months ago, but they are pony hair and so i have to make sure it isn't going to rain otherwise they will get wrecked. Also ignore the tubby legs, i feel like the gym and a diet is in order....They are lovely though (might just be my taste, im a sucker for leopard print)

Again, nothing too fancy with my hair and make up, just really simple with eye liner and lots of mascara. Nothing really on my lips as they are major cracked at the moment and so not looking too attractive with lipstick on.  looking slightly orange due to trying out some new products but hey, i can cope. Also i love how my dress is going in this photo, i feel like Monroe!

Hope you all have a lovely day, until next time

In the shadows (dark circles)

As with most girls i have a serious problem with dark under eye circles, too much work, lack of sleep, not to mention im a uni student so late nights are a given. The area under my eye was starting to sag and look dark and bruised as well as becoming sore and tender. After consulting my doctor to make sure it wasn't a lack of certain vitamins (such as iron and zinc which can control skins replenishing rate), which all came back negative, i decided i need to step up to not only cover but control these black holes under my eyes. Im only 20 i dont wanna look like im 30.+ So, this is what has worked for me. I hope it helps you :)

Firstly, i wanted to help the cause no just cover them up so i started to change my lifestyle. Like i said, im a student so late nights, doing work and going out cant be avoided, but what can be avoided is the extra damage. I make sure i always take my make up off using a gentle cleanser, such as Johnsons eye remover, olive oil or Clinque take the day off. (which i love) This not only helps your skin to breath but helps its to recover and moisturise, all of which can help to stop dark circles.

Next i make sure i always apply an eye cream to the area under and above my eye to my brow bone. Again this can help to moisturise the area and drain any access puffiness which can cause bruising and break blood vessels which cause dark circles. Its important that when you are massaging/washing/applying things to the eye area you are gentle and soft as any extra damage can make things worse. Use your ring finger and pat gently instead of rubbing. I use Clinque Eye Cream Rich which is smooth and dries quickly to help treat and protect my eye area.

WATER! When i wanted to change my eyes i knew i had to intake my water levels and this can cause dry skin, and not make the skin as fluffy and soft as it should be. Retractable skin heals and looks better than dehydrated skin and can help everything from acne to dark circles.

After i changed all of my lifestyle changes it was time to start correcting the problem while is healed and got better. I tried out a few products that were meant to be good for dark circles and these are now what i use. :)

Firstly i use YSL touche eclat, which helps to conceal the areas under my eyes in a reflective manner. However, when you are trying to conceal any dark patches you dont want to pick anything to light or shiny compared to your skin tone as this will just draw more attention to the area in question. This product just gives a nice luminosity to the area and looks nice and fresh.

After this i add Lemonaid by Benefit to the lid and under eye area as the yellow tones help to conceal the dark bruises in a natural and smooth manner, this product also works as a primer which is great as it saves time later :) Then i apply foundation in the normal way and set with powder. However around the eye area i am more gentle and use Benefit Powderflage as its a special formula that is designed not to crease and set any extra product you may have under the eye area quickly and doesn't look cakey :)

Although more recently something i have really loved using is Max Factors Pan stick, which is a heavy coverage foundation. However i like to use it as a concealer as it really stays put and doesn't budge, something which is really important to avoid the cakey flakey look! I use a really light finger (i prefer using fingers to anything else) and just dab a small amount on, making it easier to blend and camouflage!

So thats it, i think everyone has their own ways of doing things and so i would love to hear any tips you have on dark circles or how to avoid them? Until next time.

And in the beginning

Hi everyone,

So this is just a quick post for my new blog, for those wondering my past blog "sequinsandlipgloss" will be deleted shortly after this goes up. Not because I don’t like that blog or anything, but because I feel as though I outgrew it and lost the passion for writing on it, I want to reimburse myself in something I enjoy and getting a new blog seemed like the way forward.
When I first started writing that I was in my first year at university and was only truly starting to get into the blogging and beauty thing so it was a good place to spread my wings but now I just feel as though I want something new and something fresh. Im working now as well as studying and my life has just changed so much that i want to share a whole new part and type of my life with everyone!
So, enough of the old, and in with the new!
This blog will contain everything honestly whatever I feel like writing. I want to include beauty, hair, fashion, tips and tricks and bits of anything really.
So, if you’re interested come along for the read I’ll try my best to make it interesting!
